Lone Bodies

All it takes is one ray of light
To break the blackness and halt the night:
To remind the soul in gloom
  That never ceasing the Sun
  Shines in the empty height.
All 'round is the void that's vast
And fills up the great morass:
  The planets and stars
  Alone in the dark apart
  Bind to each other's mass.
As the bodies above do find
A way to make some island's kind,
So we must make a home
of the ones that 'round us roam,
  Lest all the darkness blind.
And let the one who cheers another's soul
Be the star 'round which all other's roll.
