Forest’s Breath

In the forest rests the fern,
  hidden in the growth.
And the trees rise up
  above the soil's mouth
That breathed out slowly
  each woody, greeny thing:
Their breath unseen is our life
  while the wind is whispering.
Look here closely, and then ponder
The riches of soil, root, and water.
