Dauntless

Tell me, friend, what can at all be said
     Of you and me and all that be?
Why are we so blind and why afraid?
     Hard it is to face reality –
But never stop finding your way;
     We have a path to trod timidly.
But trod it we must, day by day,
     Till the endless dusk settles blackly
     Over that truth we sought dauntlessly.
